Daron K. Roberts, February 2018

Our 2017-2018 Rutledge Speaker was Daron K. Roberts. Daron is a former Harvard Law grad turned NFL coach. Currently, he is a university lecturer and founding director of the Center for Sports Leadership & Innovation at the University of Texas. He is the author of Call an Audible: Let my Pivot from Harvard Law to NFL Coach Inspire Your Transition.

Freedom from Chemical Dependency, January 2018

Freedom from Chemical Dependency visited TVS to work with middle and upper school students. According to FCD, “we are committed to educating young people about the risks and realities of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. With our vast experience, we are confident that we can provide the next generation with the knowledge, nurturance and social skills they need to become healthy, responsible adults.”

Myles Eckert, November 2017

When Myles Eckert was 9 years old, he did something extraordinary, he "paid it forward". In so doing, he raised awareness for the the lost of art of selfless sacrifice. For his selfless sacrifice, the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation awarded Myles with its highest award, the Citizen Honor Award. Click here for a video report of his story.

Sergeant First Class Melvin Morris, November 2017

Melvin Morris earned his Medal of Honor as a result of his heroism during the Vietnam War but was not awarded the Medal of Honor until March 18, 2014. This day marked one of the largest ceremonies of the Medal of Honor as there were twenty-four (24) awardees, known as the “Valor 24” recipients.

Francisco Hernandez, October 2017

Francisco Hernandez worked personally with President Vicente Fox’s campaign for President of Mexico. He is a Criminal Law Specialist Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. In addition to running his law firm, Francisco has served as Chairman of DFW International Airport, the Texas Ethics Commission, as a Municipal Judge and prior to establishing his own firm, he served in the Texas State Capitol as special legislative counsel for two State Senators. He is also a Vietnam Veteran.
