The TVS Players will present the play The Election by Don Zolidis October 15-18, 2020. The show was originally scheduled to be produced in the TVS Black Box Theater back in March of this year but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Some roles needed to be recast, as the actors who were playing them graduated in May. With many restrictions still in place this semester, the play was videotaped and edited and will be available for viewing online for those four days only.
The play is a timely parody of much that is happening in the national political scene this election year. Set in a high school, it tells the story of two seniors in a heated race for student body president.
The website to view the play is vimeo.com/showcase/tvselection. Currently, there is a trailer for the show that can be seen there.
There will be three screenings of the video in the Stephen Seleny Theater. Two will be on October 15 and 16 at 7:00 p.m. each evening. Special COVID-19 protocol will be in place. For reservations and details, go to tvs.org/theatertickets starting Monday, October 12.
