Dear Trojan Families,
I hope that you are safe and warm. This has been a trying week for Texans. As I write this note, so many of our families and employees are still without power and/or water. Some who have power do not have WIFI. We had hoped to be able to hold virtual classes tomorrow. However, we will have to wait just a little bit longer. We will provide another update to you tomorrow afternoon about our ability to have virtual learning for Friday.
Campus will not be open on Friday. We are assessing campus conditions now but will not know if there are burst pipes until the weather climbs above freezing. We will use Friday for cleanup, repairs, and to restock and prepare for school, including lunch service on Monday.
As we look ahead to next week, we have a change to share with you. Originally, we had planned to hold Conference Days for all divisions on Monday, and for Lower School on Tuesday. These two days will now be regular school days for students in all divisions. We have made this change to avoid making up the instructional days lost this week. We also hope that this allows for more flexibility for families who will need to meet with insurance adjusters and service repair providers next week. Division Heads will reach out with more information.
Barring any significant damage or further power/water emergencies, we fully anticipate a return to our normal class schedules on Monday for all students: in-person and TLC.
We are thinking about you and your families. Please do not hesitate to reach out to let us know if there is anything we can do to help you during this time. We are sending you good thoughts for sunnier days ahead!
Head of School
