This past week, Mr. Reinhold ran "Fort Worth Forward 2021," a summer outreach camp for local underserved children. This year, we partnered with Rivertree Academy in the Como neighborhood, inviting their rising 3rd-6th graders to our campus for an all-day exploration camp.
Krista Forsgren engaged the campers in Chinese language/culture and taught them some fundamental gardening skills!
Allison Shapard led several fantastic teambuilding/trust games and exercises!
Julie Frey explored insect biology and marine biology, using specimens to investigate the parts of several animals!
Ryan Churchward led virtual field trips to important historical locations around the world!
Don Carlson used costumes and props to make Shakespeare come alive and taught improvisational skills!
Laura Everett explored important lifesaving/first-aid methods and distributed take-home kits to each camper!
Szalan Ellis took the campers out onto our rock-climbing wall and ropes course, patiently encouraging them toward "challenge by choice!"
Stacie Adams engaged the campers in "pastel art" and "scratch art" projects, and each camper had his or her own masterpieces to take home!
Carry Hansen explored the art of stop motion video-making, and the campers had fun showing off their creations in a short "film festival!"
What a wonderful experience for our friends at Rivertree Academy and the broader Fort Worth community!
