We are very proud of Emma Bedward '20, who recently won the F.S. Jennings Award in Critical Writing given by the English department at Pomona College for her essay entitled "The Strength of the Psyche: A Naturalistic Argument for the Events of [Balzac's] The Wild Ass's Skin." From Pomona College's website: "The F.S. Jennings Memorial Prizes...are awarded each year for excellence in English. In awarding these prizes, special consideration is given to freshman students who make persistent and successful efforts to improve the quality of their written English and to majors in English literature whose critical writing is adjudged to be distinguished. Unusually fine performance in writing may be awarded wherever it is found." This is an incredible accomplishment. Congratulations to Emma!
