  • A preschool teacher recommendation

 How to start:

  1. Click on "Apply Online" on the right to create an account with our online application provider, Ravenna (be sure to set it up with the email account that you want to use to communicate with the school)
  2. Fill out the Student Profile
  3. Find TVS in the Fort Worth Area school directory
  4. Click Apply to begin

If at any point you should have a question about Ravenna and your application, please email help@ravennasolutions.com or call our office.

Once the online application has been submitted, you will be contacted to schedule the individual assessment and class visit. A printable checklist can be found to the right.  Please call 817.321.0116 if you have any questions.

Individual Testing

Kindergarten applicants participate in an age appropriate assessment with one of our experienced Kindergarten teachers. This "visit" lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour and begins by picking out a special animal chair in our safari-themed testing room.  Parents will have the opportunity to talk and/or tour with a TVS host.

We are excited to announce that we will be using a new, developmentally appropriate assessment for prospective students applying to kindergarten. The Admission Assessment for Beginning Learners (AABL) is an engaging, interactive, tablet-based (iPad) evaluation that provides insight into a child’s abilities with regard to reasoning and achievement. Please take a moment to visit ERB online. This website provides a comprehensive overview of the assessment as well as a demonstration video.

Cooperative Testing: Trinity Valley School cooperates with three other independent schools - All Saints’ Episcopal School, Fort Worth Academy, and Fort Worth Country Day - in sharing joint admissions policies, calendar, testing and notification dates. Admissions candidates who are applying to more than one of these schools should schedule the admissions testing at one school and request that the test scores are sent to the other school(s). To be considered for admission at any other school, candidates must also file applications with those schools.

Group Class Visit

The class visit allows us to observe applicants in a classroom setting. Conducted by our Kindergarten and Enrichment faculty, the class visit consists of a variety of fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities and lasts approximately an hour and a half. Parents will participate in information sessions during the visit.

Early Decision Class Visit: Friday, January 6, 2017 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

New Family Class Visit:  Saturday, January 28, 2017  from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. If you cannot attend on this date, please call Mary Andrews at 817.321.0116 to schedule a make-up date.

Teacher Recommendation

The teacher recommendation will be sent directly to the preschool listed on the application and returned to Trinity Valley.  If you are applying to more than one school, the school administering the individual testing will share the recommendation with the schools listed on the application.

Dates and Deadlines

Kindergarten applications are due February 1, 2017.  Decision letters will be mailed on February 24, 2017.

Early Decision applications are due on November 15, 2016. Decision letters will be mailed on January 20, 2017.

Early Decision Applicants

For kindergarten admission, siblings of currently enrolled students and children of Trinity Valley School graduates or faculty/staff members receive an early admission decision; however, school policy states that no more than two-thirds of the kindergarten class may be filled by early decision. This policy ensures that there will always be openings for families new to the school.

Age Requirement

Children must be 5 years old by August 31 of the year they will enter Kindergarten. If you are considering having your child wait a year before entering kindergarten and he or she will turn 6 before May 1, we recommend that you schedule a visit with our Admissions staff.
